Sport Northern Ireland in partnership with Inspire Wellbeing have today launched an online wellbeing hub, you may already have seen some promotional material on this via social media channels. Through their Mental Health & Wellbeing Forum (on which the IABA are represented) there has been a lot of work ongoing over the past 6 months to develop this resource. Due to the current situation the decision was taken to fast track this resource and make it available to the sporting community as a matter of priority.
The Sport Wellbeing Hub provides an excellent range of innovative tools and resources which will help to deal with some of the challenges we are all experiencing during this particularly difficult time. These include:
– Guided self-assessment via ‘Chatbot’;
– Self-help programmes and digital intervention tools;
– Searchable ‘5 ways to wellbeing’ map;
– Wellbeing information library; and
– Video content featuring some of our sporting heroes talking about mental health.
Moving forward, Sport Northern Ireland along with Inspire Wellbeing will continue to enhance and develop the content contained within the hub.
The IABA are extremely grateful to Sport Northern Ireland for making available this free resource to all sporting bodies, particularly during these challenging times when some of us may benefit from the resources contained within the hub. We would encourage all of our clubs and members to register for this hub, and to circulate as widely as possible. Sport NI, and indeed the IABA are really keen to reach out and help as many people as possible, and hopefully this hub will be a valuable resource to all who access it.
