Dear Members of Ulster Boxing,
As we return to some normality by getting back into the boxing gym which I am sure you have all missed. We are excited to get back to what we all love. We are delighted to announce an Expression of Interest to be considered for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
After a long 18 months we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel and start focusing on boxing again. Ulster Boxing Council (UBC) have been doing a lot of work in the background with Ulster High Performance (UHP) for the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. We are delighted to announce that Ulster High Performance will assist ALL boxers who are interested in competing at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 by providing:
- 8 Week Remote Training Programme
- 1 Testing Camp
- 6-8 Collective Training Sessions
UBC recognises boxers training has been severely limited during the pandemic and this is a great opportunity to kick start the preparation for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
To be included in this process, each boxer will need to complete an Expression of Interest form which can be found via on the UBC website.
For full details of the process, policies and other documentation please see link Commonwealth Games 2022 – The Ulster Boxing Council
This link will be emailed out to all club secretaries.
The closing date for Expressions of Interest is the 11th June 2021.
Boxing has had an excellent track record at the Commonwealth Games, and we hope to continue with the success of our boxers in 2022.
Yours in Sport,
Ulster Boxing Council
